Day 3 as a “single” mum

Edward woke up at 530am. Crying. It was particularly annoying because Oliver was sleeping in the same room. I didn’t want him to be awoken so early. Thank goodness he slept until 7am.

My aunt, Sao tu, took him to her house while I had a quick shower. Fed him breakfast and Oliver was awake. We all went to the other house to enjoy the breeze. The weather was quite good. Staying indoors would mean we would have missed out. Great grandma and small grandmas played with Oliver. He was so happy jumping up and down on my thigh. Edward was happy just to be there with a lot of people.

Brought Oliver home for playtime on the mattress and then it was Oliver’s nap time. Nothing much happened then. Edward was content being at the other house so I had a brief me-time.

Oliver woke up. Edward came back with a tantrum. Everything was a mess. No lunch. A war in the shower. Early nap at 11:15am for edward. Oliver followed shortly after. Mummy had a short nap.

Oliver woke first. Fed Edward lunch. Yesterday’s pork macaroni. Ate well. The boys were playing happily in the living room. Edward became lethargic. Passed him to Sao tu. no easy task. Oliver was sleepy and crying. Had to carry Oliver in one arm, wear sandals for Edward with the other. Had to get both boys out the back gate without letting the dogs touch them. No easy task.

Oliver napped. Went to get Edward back. Oliver woke. Made scrambled eggs for Edward and he ate it heartily with rice. Played..

Oliver became hungry , tired and whiny. Decided to bring both boys for a bath. Oliver cried less in the bath today. Edward? It was a nightmare.

He vomited.

Brought them both to the bedroom. Edward knocked his head on the floor while laying on his pillow. Cried again. I accidentally hit his chin with my knee. There goes the calm bedtime.

Asked if he wanted to read a book or have milk. He chose milk. Lights off. Both boy had their milk. Edward slept within 15 minutes, at around 630pm I think. Oliver couldn’t sleep till 7:40pm.

Have not cleared the living room (2 rooms), have not cleared the pee in the potty, have not cleared the vomit, have not had dinner, have not done laundry (and therefore, hanging clothes), have not washed the dishes.

The rest of the evening, from now 750pm, will be dedicated to doing all the “have nots”.
