20 month old Edward

Puzzles are your favourite now, mummy will tidy up your puzzles “a million times” and you will take the box out of the toy box “a million times”. You will always end up calling “mummy mummy! Help!” or sometimes just scream and point, meaning you need help to get the puzzle box out. You are good at it by the way 😉

Climbing is probably your 2nd hobby at this moment (after puzzles). You will ask mummy to clap for you “mummy tap tap” (haha cute mispronunciation of the word ‘clap’) whenever you managed to climb up somewhere or get down from somewhere high. Mummy can see a sense of satisfaction, achievement on your face… But mummy didn’t want to acknowledge your achievement as mummy wants to discourage climbing! So it was hard to tell you not to climb seeing you were so happy to be able to do it.

You had a lot to deal with these past 3 weeks as Oliver just joined us. You couldn’t sleep well at night and now it has not gotten better yet. Daddy has been sleeping with you at night half the time. You will not allow daddy to carry Oliver or attend to Oliver. You will say “oum oum” to daddy whenever you know daddy is going to Oliver. Funny enough you hardly say that at all to mummy. Is it because you understand that Oliver needs mummy? Or is it just because right now you don’t feel like sharing daddy but sharing mummy is fine? Haha…

The first few days of Oliver’s arrival, you would get scared and stressed whenever you hear Oliver’s cry. Now you are okay with it 🙂 so proud of my baby!

When Oliver makes a slight noise, or cry, you would say “mummy, daddy, fly, baby fly” hehe… So cute.. Wonder when you will be able to say the word ‘cry’.

You start to show some signs of adoring Oliver. When Oliver cried so much from wind, you bent over and gave him a kiss. You will say dotingly ” hi baby, baby” , mummy needs to capture this on video!

Fascination with the drain! Or drain cover more specifically.

Loves playing with the piano in front of the boarding school office.

Starts to enjoy drawing with crayons. Always tell mummy to draw the sun although now it’s not as often.

Can count to 13. Can read numbers up till number 13. All because we are staying at level 13 🙂

Can recognize some alphabet letters like A B C F M

Is slightly bilingual (English & Lao)

Has just started to get exposure to the Chinese language. Daddy would read a Chinese book to you. Watch YouTube videos in Chinese, count till 10. Not bad 🙂

Learning colours. Mummy is only emphasizing yellow and red at the moment… Will not teach you other colours until you get these 2 colours.

You know how to use iPhone, iPod, iPad SO WELL. You will cry to play these gadgets! Mummy and daddy’s fault for introducing them to you and installing baby applications on them for you!

You love the Wiggles.

You like Barney.

You love the song “here we go round the mulberry bush”. You won’t fail to get up and dance in circles whenever mummy sings the song. If mummy stops, you will even ask mummy to sing! “mummy! Bush! Bush!”

You know Skype and the word ‘online’

You nap at 12 noon for 2 hours

You have 5 meals per day (3 main, 2 snacks)

You start bedtime routine at 7:15pm and sleep around 7:50pm to 8:00pm

You wake up at 6:30am most mornings

You LOVE noodles, spaghetti, bee hon, etc

You like walk paths with stepping stones. It’s like an obstacle course for you!

You are still on the pacifier.

It’s thrilling for you to run downhill.

You like Eeyore.

Scream a lot! When you want something now and now and cannot get it yourself, when you are not happy, when Oliver keeps crying because of wind :(, etc.

You prefer running (or more like sprinting!) to walking…

You enjoy the thrill of walking with your eyes closed!

You weigh 12.5 kg and stand at 84 cm at 20.5 month old
